Volunteer
Volunteers support The Connecticut Community Empowerment Foundation’s mission through integrated teamwork, the genuine appreciation for diversity, and the desire to promote a forward-thinking environment of awareness, understanding and respect for people of all abilities. They assist in sorting through donated books; organizing book drives from schools, book clubs, service groups and religious organizations; and the delivery of books to senior centers, food kitchens, libraries, and a variety of literacy organizations. Volunteers include high school students, young adults, families, college and graduate students, and community members.
The ReRead Pages
In the spring of 2025, we began The ReRead Pages program as an opportunity for some of our supporters to become more regular contributors to our efforts. Members volunteer their time to help us with any and all of the following, based on their availability and interest:
-Set-up, clean up, and/or staffing for ReRead-sponsored events, such as our sip & shops, character breakfasts, author visits, comedy nights, annual summer craft fair and winter Holiday Stroll, and any number of other fundraising events
-Seeking/raising donations for fundraising events
-Advertising our events (via flyers, lawn signs, social media, etc.)
-Set-up and clean up for private events in The Reading Room
