The Soul of Art

March 14 @ 1:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Join us for “The Soul of Art” on March 14, 2026, from 1:30 to 5:30 pm, at ReRead Booksellers in Cheshire—an afternoon of art, creativity, and community. Meet New York artist Allison Luci (“Allie for the Soul”) and Cheshire artist Susan Schapira as they share their work and creative journeys.

Bring your drawing supplies and sketch with the Urban Sketchers of Central Connecticut (or simply observe if you prefer). Learn how to reproduce and sell your own art at a special “Art Reproduction and Sales Workshop” led by Allie.

Guests will hear about an Italian cultural and art retreat, featuring en plein air classes, a pottery class, cultural immersion and cooking classes. The retreat led by Allie in partnership with Vita Villaggi, takes place in a fairytale-like medieval village in southern Italy, where art and nature come together in unforgettable ways. While in Italy, the group will also stop at a local café that trains and employs young adults of all abilities. We will have a special lunch made for us and dine al fresco in the garden where most of the vegetables served in the café are grown. Some of Susan’s artwork on exhibit at ReRead was even inspired by her trip to Italy with Vita Villaggi last June.

To benefit ReRead Books & More, you can enter a raffle for $10 or $25.  Winners of the drawing will receive 20% off the featured cultural and art retreat taking place September 28-October 5, 2026.

This free afternoon event will begin with coffee and biscotti and conclude with wine and light fare. “The Soul of Art” promises an inspiring blend of creativity, culture, and community in the heart of Cheshire and supports ReRead Books.
